Provide services to the sufferers of hearing disorders and speech defects like stammering, stuttering, voice disorder, delayed speech and language development disorders due to mental retardation, deafness, cerebral dysfunction, autism spectrum disorders, identification, assessment & diagnosis of hearing impairment and therapy for speech defects, for the handicapped the role revolves around Educational Audiology.
Administer hearing or speech/language evaluations, tests, or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairment, using specialized instruments and electronic equipment.
Need to hold a Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP)/ Master of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP)
Plan and conduct treatment programs for clients' hearing or speech problems, consulting with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other health care personnel as necessary.
Maintain client records at all stages, including initial evaluation and discharge.
Evaluate hearing and speech/language disorders to determine diagnoses and courses of treatment.
Assist patients in selecting hearing aids.
